Project 3 Reflection

E-commerce Site

This part of the project was definitely more challenging for me. I was a bit confused about how to edit each content block, as far as pages went. Luckily I figured it out! Unfortunately, I began to have issues with the template because it would pull content from the homepage and insert it on my About and Contact pages. Luckily, I changed the template and resolved the issue through editing my homepage exclusively through the Pages section, instead of customizing the template. I am proud, mostly, of the flow of my website. I was disheartneed when I had to switch to a new template, but I was able to to mimic it for the most part with Wordpress' widgets such as buttons, comment and testimonies sections, and forms generated from additional plug-ins. In the future, I'd like to learn more about other widgets, how to make my site even more dynamic, and how to use Wordpress easily and efficiently.

News Site

This part of the project was far easier for me than the other. I really enjoyed adding in content that I enjoyed and cared for. I was able to use Wordpress far more efficiently which rocks! The main struggle I faced in this section was formatting the site so that it didn't look overcrowded, as most news sites do. I personally shut down when I see sites like that because there's too much going on, no where for your eyes to rest, and basically feels like I wouldn't get any information because of the absolute overload that the sites are. So, needless to say, I am super proud of the formatting with the use of widgets like the "latest post" function and subscription widgets! In the future, I'd like to become more curious about adding in video or gifs. Currently, I don't love th idea of doing so because I am very aesthetics-oriented, but I hope to become more flexible in the future.
